New Jersey Ultimate Tournaments Page
NJ Area Tournaments
It seems that there are an increasing number of tournaments for all
levels of competition
in New Jersey and the surrounding area. This is a good thing. Let's
keep it up! Remember:
The best way to contribute to the growth and development of the sport
of Ultimate is to
make it possible for more people to play the game. So, do your part
>>> spread the word,
organize and host games, clinics and tournaments. And when you play,
play as if the future
of Ultimate, not just the outcome of one point or one game, is on the
line. Because it is. Play
with Spirit.
If you would like to announce or publicise a tournament, I recommend
that you post a
notice to the "unofficial publication of the Ultimate community"
~~ the Usenet newsgroup,
rec.sport.disc. Since this newsgroup is used by both disc golfers and
ultimate players, it will
be appreciated if you use the word "Ultimate" or the abbreviation
<U> (or some variant) in
the subject line of your messages posted to r.s.d.
I will be happy to help you publicize your event, too. You can send
me an e~mail message
asking me to post information about your game or tournament, and when
I get a chance, I
will help out.
The usual suspects ~~ i.e., regularly held NJ tournaments that I have
heard about ~~ are as
follows:

I don't want to delete this graphic (thanks to Rob and Zach) .... but
note the YEAR!
Sponsored by Red Bank Brewery Co.
This is, in many respects, the highlight of NJ Ultimate, drawing world
class teams and
beginners alike. But it is first come, first served, and teams are
turned away, so get your
registration in early if you want to be a part of this gig.
The Swamp Thing is a two day event, with an open division ("A"
and "B" teams) and a
women's division.
Reported to be a PRIMO GREAT time. Summertime (hurricanes have
been known to wreak
havoc with this event). This event tends to happen either in July or
on the first or second
weekend in August. Check the PADA
tournaments page
for details.
Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance
- You know what? These folks are great! They host more events than anyone
else even
- close to here, so we travel to the Philly area to play several times
every year. Check
- out the tournament information and other propaganda at the PADA
web site. Thanks
- PADA folks, for making it happen!
